Request Account & Data Deletion
mylnk (the "Student Networking CRM") ยท Last Updated: October 1, 2026
If you wish to request that your mylnk account and associated data be deleted, please follow the steps below. This page is provided by mylnk (the app and developer name shown on the Google Play Store and other store listings) to comply with data deletion request requirements.
Steps to Request Account and Data Deletion
- Open the mylnk app and sign in to your account.
- Open Settings: on iPhone or Android, tap your profile picture at the top of Home; on the web, open your profile and go to the Account tab.
- Tap "Delete account" near the bottom of the screen.
- Confirm the deletion. On iPhone or Android, tick the box confirming you understand it is permanent, then tap "Delete my account".
- Alternatively, email us directly at support@milnk.app with the subject line "Account deletion request" and include the email address associated with your mylnk account. We will process your request and confirm once your account and data have been deleted.
What We Delete
When you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymize the following data associated with your account:
| Data type | Handling |
| Account and profile | Deleted (email, name, username, profile image, school, preferences) |
| Contacts and pipeline data | Deleted |
| Calendar and tasks | Deleted |
| Direct and group chat messages | Deleted from our systems (conversation history) |
| AI conversations and prep content | Deleted |
| Uploaded files (resumes, documents, media) | Deleted from storage |
| Block list and report data | Deleted (who you blocked; reports you submitted) |
| Our system's records of emails sent to you | Deleted (for example, the note that your data download was ready). A copy of each email we send stays in our company mailbox; none contains a link to your data. |
| Notifications and push notification token | Deleted (your in-app notifications, and the token that lets us send notifications to your device) |
| Third-party connections (e.g. Google) | Disconnected; we do not retain OAuth tokens after deletion |
What We May Keep
We may retain the following where required or permitted by law:
- Legal and safety: Information necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our terms, or protect against fraud or abuse (e.g. records of reports you made may be retained in anonymized or aggregated form where required for safety or legal purposes).
- Report emails: The email our team receives about a chat report, including any recent messages it quotes, is kept in our support inbox until we have finished reviewing the report and is then deleted, and in any case within 12 months. The separate copy our system uses to send it is deleted automatically about 30 days after it is sent, or when you delete your account if you filed the report.
- Backups: Deleted data may persist in backup systems for a limited period (typically up to 90 days) before being purged.
- Anonymized data: We may retain aggregated or de-identified data that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
- Feature counts: Records of which features you used are added to the daily totals for all users and then deleted.
- Record of your requests: A short record that you deleted your account, and of any data download or plan change, with the date and an internal account number, so we can show we handled them. The record itself holds no name or email address. Each is kept for 2 years and then deleted.
Additional Retention Period
After we process your deletion request, your personal data will be removed from our active systems. Backup and secondary copies will be purged within 90 days of your request. Where we are required to retain certain information by law, that retention will follow the applicable legal requirement.
